“Partners” notwithstanding, Shine Technology Partners is operated by me, Shawn McGinness. I grew up in the credit and collections world, working my way from part time small-balance collector to part-owner and Chief Operations Officer of the family collections business. We sold the agency in 2004; I stayed on to ease the transition and then started Shine to help other agencies and in-house collections departments with what I know best:

• Increasing revenue by figuring out what matters and ignoring the rest
• Digging in the data to understand the inventory, the staff, and the economy
• Organizing the chaos of startups, system conversions, and other major projects

I’m passionate about merging the rigor of good process and analysis with the humanness of running a small business. I believe that, as an industry, we can do much better, and I know that you have unrealized revenue opportunities.

When I’m not at the office, I’m frequently speaking on the issues of applied technology, process improvement, and the Collection Technology Open Standard, of which I’m a founding member and one of the original authors.
